Ashton Kutcher Slams Tabloid Over Alleged Cheating Story; Claims 'Defamation Of Character'

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Ashton Kutcher has taken aim at a tabloid after it published a cover story claiming he cheated on his wife, Demi Moore.
On Wednesday, the actor hit his Twitter account to lash out at Star magazine, which claimed in its latest issue that the celebrity couple's marriage "is in danger of falling apart" because the mag claimed the actor was allegedly "caught cheating with a sexy, young, 20-something."

"I think Star magazine calling me a "cheater" qualifies as defamation of character. I hope my lawyer agrees," Ashton Tweeted on Wednesday.
"STAR magazine - you don't get to stand behind 'freedom of the press' when you are writing fiction," he added.

Ashton's wife, Demi, backed him up, reTweeting her husband and adding her two cents.
"No question!," she wrote in response to his defamation of character Tweet.
Demi also called his "writing fiction" Tweet, an "Excellent point my love!"

Star noted that Ashton's rep denied the story in their online version of the article.
Access Hollywood reached out to Star magazine on Wednesday for comment, but did not receive a reply by press time.
